That graph shows the path of every team in the power rankings this season with the week on the x-axis and the power rankings on the y-axis (lower is better).
Allow me to explain. The top line in week one (the 32nd ranked team in my week one power rankings) is the Carolina Panthers. As you can see, they have hovered between 32 and 31 all season and have currently occupied the last-place position for three straight weeks.
The line at the very bottom is the only one that has remained in the same position all season. You guessed it— that line represents the Kansas City Chiefs who are currently undefeated after a 30-24 overtime victory against Tampa Bay last night.
Besides Carolina and Kansas City, it’s virtually impossible to follow any team’s path for the first half of the season without losing your eyesight. Thus, I highlighted each team’s line on a separate graph along with every team’s week 10 ranking.
32 to 1 lies ahead.
